Picture is better than expected for this price. The tuner allows HD content on many channels without a digital cable box (due to QAM, I suppose). The speakers are adequate for a relatively small room. We would like it to have an on-screen clock, sound leveling, and an adjustable base (height or even just tilt), but these are minor concerns. The remote is hideous (looks like it was made by Texas Intsruments in 1979) but functional and logical. Overall a great value, especially if you can get free shipping.

My new TV arrived today. It took 5 minutes to unpack and set it up. Another few minutes to adjust it the way I wanted. This is a great product for the price. Picture and sound quality are superb. As my last TV was a Toshiba, I didn’t have to reset anything on my cable remote. Don’t know where all these other buyers are coming from to give anything less than a 5. If I could have, I’d have given this a ten. This isn’t a $1500 TV, but that’s not what I bought. I am very happy with my purchase.

Bought the tv as a Circuit City close-out. Was defective when I brought it home. I assumed Sharp would replace it with new since it is 2 days old. They are insisting on a repair after a week wait. I had to call twice to get that info. Very disappointing customer service. Very disappointing experience with Aquos so far.

About one year ago I purchased the Sharp 52″ LCD TV. I am very happy with this purchase. The picture has excellent sharpness and color, with no color banding as experienced with some of the earlier versions. This TV has performed perfectly with no problems. A very nice feature of this TV is the automatic picture level control, which controls the level of brightness of the video under variable room lighting conditions, especially on a partly cloudy day, when the lighting constantly changes. The audio is good if you do not use maximum bass setting, as setting bass level too high overdrives the built-in speakers at high audio levels. The audio is surprisingly good at normal settings with the bottom mounted internal speakers. Don’t be afraid to explore all the video settings to achieve the picture that will please you, as it takes some experimenting to get this right, but it’s worth it. I highly recommend this TV after using it for almost one year. This is my 3rd Sharp TV….all with excellent reliability.

I bought this set on the picture quality alone. While it had all the useful AV inputs one would normally expect, picture is it. Best reproduction of skin tones. I hope Mitsubishi comes out with a B-ray disc-player for home theather use. One less remote! Buy it. I used a TV test disc to put the set thru it’s color spectrum paces. The ability to adjust 6 colors vs 3 colors is a purist delight. Too bad the orignator’s of the displayed material aren’t as picky or station to station transmission quality. Ran the movie “Bridges of Madison County” DVD(My wife’s favorite)a couple of times to appreciate the outstand rendition of the “film”. “WALL-E” is another must see. (Yes, I bought the DVD and Iam a “old” guy. No grand-kids.)

I needed a new TV that would fit in a cabinet in my house. With the thin bezel, I was able to maximize screen size for this space with this 40″ model. I am most impressed with the picture quality, even during the daytime as the family room has a window wall and is bright. I had seen this model at various Houston stores but Amazon.com had the best price and saved enough to pay for the extended warranty.
